This text covers all of the basic fundamentals of writing games that do not require a fancy graphical interface. The book covers topics ranging from rolling dice, to card games, to live action arcade games, to adventure style games, and to a complete WWII combat game. Each major game is illustrated with a sample program, written in C++ using Microsoft's Visual Studio .NET 2005.

This book is designed for a college level introduction to game programming for DOS.

The text places emphasis on making reusable algorithms.
